# Recover designs from deleted teams

When you [delete a team](/content/help/manage-teams/index.html), all designs, folders, uploads, groups, and apps created in that team will be scheduled to be deleted in **14 days**.

We're rolling out navigation changes gradually, so some steps in this Help article may not accurately reflect what you see in the app. If you can't find **Canva AI**, your profile photo, or your Print cart on the homepage, go to **More**.

## I want to recover designs from a deleted team

### Cause

Your team will be permanently deleted 14 days after deleting it in Canva. You can't restore a design from a deleted team in Canva if it's been more than 14 days.

### Fix

**Desktop**  
If you're the team owner and it’s still within 14 days since you deleted your team, you can undo the deletion.

1. From the homepage, go to **Settings**.
2. Select **Manage Teams** first if you have multiple teams. This tab will not be visible if you only have one team.
3. Next to the team you want to restore, select **Undo delete**.

### More than 14 days have passed since the team deletion

Your team will be permanently deleted 14 days after pressing **Delete**. As part of our legal obligation, your team and all related files will be removed from our system so they can’t be restored anymore.

### Tips for Recovering Missing Designs

Can’t find a design you’ve been working on? Don’t worry- here’s some guidance:

1. **Check Projects**  
   All your Canva designs are stored under Projects. From the homepage, select Projects from the left sidebar. Use the search bar at the top to search for your design name or keywords. Try sorting your designs by Last edited or Created date to bring recent work to the top.

2. **Check if you're logged into the correct Canva account**  
   Sometimes, missing designs are simply in another account. Sign out of Canva completely, and log back in using your other email addresses or sign-in methods.

3. **Confirm you’re still part of the team**  
   If you’ve been removed from a team, you’ll lose access to designs you created or were shared with you there.

4. **Data restoration**  
   If you’ve deleted a design yourself, it’s moved to Trash in Projects for 30 days. To recover: Go to Projects, then Trash. Find your design and select Restore.

5. **Review version history**  
   Restore an older version of your design from the File menu in the editor. You can restore up to 1,000 previous versions. To view version history, you must be the design owner or have edit access. Users with view or comment access can’t see version history.

6. **Understanding Version History vs. Trash**  
   - **Version History** allows restoration of previous designs.  
   - **Trash** lets you recover designs completely deleted from your account.
