# Create a video clip in Canva AI 1.0

Generate short video clips by entering text prompts to Canva AI. You can then preview, download, or edit your clip directly in Canva’s Video Editor.

**Canva AI limitations**

- Prompts are supported in English only
- Canva blocks inappropriate prompts and moderates content.
- You can’t manually change the audio in videos with sound.

### Generate 6-second or 8-second videos with Canva AI 1.0

Using Canva AI, you can generate 8-second videos with audio or 6-second videos without audio. Canva saves generated videos automatically.

1. From the homepage, select **Canva AI.**
2. Select **Video clip**.
3. Describe what you’d like to see. For example:
   - A foggy forest at dawn
   - Fireworks over a calm lake at night
   - An astronaut floating in deep space
4. (Optional) **Attach a reference image** to guide the style or composition.
5. Canva AI may suggest enhancements like pastel tones or cinematic effects.
6. To **download**, select the **download icon**.
7. To **edit the video** (e.g., add text, trim, or overlay music), select **Use Canva Editor.**

### Why isn’t my video appearing?

If your video isn’t appearing, it may still be generating. Please wait up to 2 minutes for generation to finish.

### Can I change my prompt to get a better result?

### I can't access Canva AI from the editor

Currently, Canva AI isn't available yet for video designs in the editor. Our team is working on making this available soon!

### AI Effects Overview

You can turn a single image into a short video using AI Effects. Choose from ready-made effect templates to bring your photos to life. Before you start, AI Effects is available from Templates on the Homepage. It's not available from the editor. You can use one image per video. AI Effects creates videos in vertical format, ideal for social media.

1. **Can I use multiple images to create a video?**  
   You can use one image per video.
2. **Why can't I find AI Effects in the editor?**  
   You can find AI Effects in Templates on the Homepage.
3. **What if my generated video looks different than expected?**  
   AI results can vary. For best results, use a high-resolution image with a clear subject.
4. **Why can't I generate more AI Effects videos?**  
   You can create up to seven AI Effects videos every 30 minutes. If you reach this limit, wait 30 minutes and try again.
